Wearable rocks

I've been learning to wire-wrap, and by "learning" I don't mean:

*observing someone who knows what they're doing
*following tutorials on Pinterest
*reading a jewelry-making book
*looking at professionally wire-wrapped pieces

All of which would be eminently sensible. Instead I took a pebble and a roll of silver wire and started wrapping that sucker up.

... which is typical, really.

But it kind of worked, and it'll work even better next time. And in the meantime, this makes me happy because it's taking something unremarkable and overlooked and celebrating it, transforming it, making it (in my eyes) an object of beauty ... or at least interest.

The fact that it's a memory-filled pebble I picked up during my travels doesn't hurt either.

Love it. If you ever need copper wiring, just tear apart an a/c adapter plug-in thingie. A friend of mine used to make sculptures and art out of it, so I was quite used to doing this for her. :)

Ooo, great idea. Especially since copper is pricy right now.

I do the same thing sometimes. Something in me just rebels against having to research things exhaustively before trying them. I just want to go for it and learn from my mistakes. :) Anyway, nice job!

Usually I AM that person that reads all the instructions first and researches everything. But sometimes ... not. :D
