You should know that roasted broccoli (toss with a little olive oil, then 450 degrees for about fifteen minutes until browned) dressed with lemon juice, soy sauce, salt and pepper, is just about the most delicious thing EVER.

I just thought you should know that.

Do you get Cooks Illustrated? Thomas' grandfather ordered it for me this year, and even if the recipes are not always attainable, it is really cool to see the why behind the how. What magazines inspire you the most?

I don't subscribe but I end up with copies fairly often nevertheless - always fun to look at, but I tend not to cook from it? I don't know why. Something about the recipes seems intimidating. My favorite cooking magazines are Gourmet, Food and Wine, and Bon Appitet ... mostly because they have really pretty pictures. :)

I knew you could roast root vegetables, but I had no idea it would work so well with broccoli! I think I'm going to make this a staple of my diet. :)

Try it with asparagus or add pine nuts to the roast for more variety. Mmmmmmm!

Yowsers!! That sounds GOOD! And as we happen to have a ton of broccoli as our box came on Saturday, I'll have to try it! Maybe for tomorrow night's dinner!
